Situated across Chicago Avenue from the historic Water Tower monument is one of the City's premier retail developments. 730 North Michigan Avenue is located in the heart of the famed Michigan Avenue shopping district known as The Magnificent Mile. The first phase of this mixed-use development, completed in 1997, included 220,000 square feet of retail space. Phase II, the 339-room, 400,000-square-foot Peninsula hotel, was completed in 2001. Conceived and developed by Thomas J. Klutznick Company, the retail portion of the project is owned by affiliates of McDonald's Corporation and Thomas J. Klutznick.
